This isn't theoretical. Organizations that have made foundational investments report dramatically different outcomes from their AI deployments. Not because they purchased better technology, but because they prepared the environment in which that technology operates.

The promise of AI assistants is real. The productivity gains, the insight acceleration, the competitive advantages—these outcomes are achievable. But they require more than license purchases and feature enablement. They require architectural thinking, foundational investment, and strategic patience.
Organizations that treat AI as a platform capability will compound their advantages over time. Those that treat it as a feature to be enabled will compound their technical debt. The choice, as always, belongs to leadership.
